For me, here is when it gets personal. I have direct knowledge of how much energy blockchain and artificial intelligence need. It's unsustainable and astounding. However, I have also recognized the possibility of change especially as we look toward the future of tech ethics.
For example, blockchain mining. What if surplus heat was used to power chillers to cool servers rather than being wasted? Some of the teams I've worked with are doing just that. Extra? These chillers' condensation can be used to water surrounding vegetation, benefiting both parties.

At another time, we collaborated with environmental experts to turn mining waste into resources that might be used.
